The small cafe was more packed that Loralie had anticipated. People were continuously flowing in, cramming themselves at tiny tables. She herself had gotten there at the perfect time - a couple were leaving one of the tables tucked away in the corner just as she walked in. She claimed it for herself, propped her feet up on the chair opposite her so no one would get any ideas about “sharing a space” and got to work on her research. She didn’t look up again until she heard the sound of a familiar voice ordering up front. She sat, still as a statue, watching as Dee ordered herself a drink and then waited for it. She watched Dee scan the cafe, presumably looking for a seat, and, despite her better judgement, waved her arm hesitantly to grab the blonde’s attention. Loralie took her feet off the chair and pushed it out a little to signal that it was empty should Dee decide to take it.
