your father would’ve been proud of you, jyn.
Lyra checked her watch for what felt like the millionth time in five minutes her hands wrapped around a cup of hot cocoa as she waited. She knew she was being impatient, Jyn technically still had three minutes before their agreed on meeting time, but she was feeling antsy. Every time the door opened her eyes would dart to it and her heart would beat a little faster, until she realized she didn’t recognize the newest patron of the little coffee shop. Hearing the bell, she looked up anxiously, though her worry faded as she recognized her sister, a smile coming to her face as she waved the other girl over with a smile. “Jyn, hey.”

It was early and Cassian was still in pain but he felt like he’d been cooped up far too long. He needed some air and to stretch his legs. Cassian knew it’d be painful but he’d go stir crazy if he didn’t get out of the med bay. He moved gingerly because his legs were stiff and his upper body was still aching and painful due to his injuries that were sustained on Scarif. he was wondering if anyone else would be around but as it was, when he made it to the mess hall, it was deserted except for a figure he’d recognise anywhere. It was Jyn. He made his way over and sat opposite her at one of the tables, “Couldn’t sleep or just needed to get out of the med bay?” He asked as he tried to get comfy, wincing as he moved.

It was early, too early for most of the pilots but after Scarif, Torin wasn’t sleeping. He’d lost friends, some he’d known since he’d arrived on Yavin 4 with his parents. He usually let things slide off him because this was a war and sometimes there were losses but these were a little harder to bear. He had pulled on a thick tunic, the early morning air was brisk and cold. Once he’d slipped his boots on, he slipped out of his quarters with his arms folded across his chest as he wandered through the main hangar. There were barely people around and for once, Torin was happy with that. He still bore some scrapes, scratches and bruises from the battle. He spent all of his time in the air and there had been a few moments where he was almost taken out by Tie Fighters. He made his way over to his X-Wing and looked at the damage. There was some engine damage that he knew his droid should be the one to fix up most of it but he had the time and it wasn’t like he was going to be sleeping any time soon. He heard a noise on to the otherside of his ship and ducked under it, wincing as the injury on his side hurt. Torin saw Jyn on the other side of the ship and he gave her a small, knowing smile, “You can’t sleep either?” He got it, he understood.
