It felt wrong to be saying goodbye. It didn’t matter what had happened between them. Sprite had lived with Sersi for so long that the flat almost felt like theirs instead of just hers. It was likely now that she would end up with Dane, even thought the two hadn’t had time since she had come back from stopping Tiamut to talk logistics. The wound in her side was long gone, healed way before she had returned to London. Sprite was human now and Sersi was both thrilled for her and startled by how concerned she was over the future.
“Here, don’t forget this one.” The Eternal held up a vest and offered it up to Sprite. She stood for a moment, awkward and unsure of what to say to someone she had known for 7,000 years. “Dane’s going to miss you, you know. He’s been watching Kingo’s movies. He keeps joking you’re off to become a star, but I -- well, I’ll miss you too.”
