What did it mean to sleep? For an actual 8 hours that is. Hunter felt that lately, he and sleep were on opposite sides. Maybe that was because he was in a new city and he was still getting used to the way things were done here – especially with his new job. Savannah was definitely different as opposed to the other places he called home. It wasn’t his nerves that he was sure of. Hunter didn’t get nervous, he did however think too much, so that had to be the reason why he couldn’t sleep – his mind just wouldn’t relax.
About a week ago he overheard some students talking about a Smoke Shop over on the Southside called Ring of something...Fire was it? The kids were saying there was some kind of menu and something about relaxing, but that was all he was able to get out of them before the bell rang and he had to order them to get to their classes.
Being in charge – or being able to have some kind of authority was ecstasy for him, even back at Dalton when he was Captain of the Warblers...
“Your destination is on the right.” The GPS announced through his car speakers. Pulling his Range Rover up in the front spot, Hunter took in a breath and exited. Honestly, he had no idea what the hell he was doing, but he usually always did things on a whim anyway.
Pushing the door open, Hunter entered the store and immediately inhaled the aroma as he stepped inside. It tickled his nose, these scents that he sure as hell wasn’t used to. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his fall jacket as he started to move around the smoke shop.
