Gabriel found it deeply unsettling just how much a stupid fever could affect his whole body and general well-being. He felt a bajillion times better simply by having the fever magickally broken. He had no idea how long it’d last, if it’d last, but for now, he was able to move on his own and that was about all he could ask for.
Except for his magick back, but beggars couldn’t be choosers.
He went back to the house to tell Micah that the Coven was a bit of a dead end and that the recommendation was...well, he wasn’t sure he wanted to tell Micah what they recommended. He liked Willow. She’d been through so much and was still going through so much, and this was the one time he couldn’t put his own needs before someone else’s. Could he?
It was his magick. Without it, he was vulnerable and nearly helpless. Not to mention, there were few things in his life that actually brought him any kind of joy or happiness, but magick did. It was essentially his life’s work.
Fortunately, he realized Micah wasn’t there and therefore had time before he had to make an actual decision.
Except he didn’t show up.
After a few hours Gabriel went from concerned to worried and when dark fell, it was back to something close to hysteria. When a full 12 hours went by, virus be damned, he was going out and looking for him. He started by the Fae, because each encounter with them had left him with a bitter taste in his mouth lately and he knew his brother wouldn’t play nearly as nice as he did, but there was no sign of him. He wouldn’t have gone to the Coven, so he skipped the cabin. The next day was the Caves. Circle back to check the house, inform Sabine, and then make a lap around the lake before he resigned himself to doing like a grid search on the whole freaking forest.
He hadn’t stopped to sleep or eat, his fever was raging, but he still smiled slightly when he caught sight of blonde by the lake.
“Willow?” Deciding his body could use a brief respite, he dropped down on the pier, leaning back on his hands as he glanced over her. “How are you doing? You feelin’ okay?”
