Jimmy had taken on a roll he didn't particularly want. He never had any intentions on getting back into the center of all of this. He had been quite enjoying his retirement, the solitude. As far as he was concerned, as far as Agustu had been, he did his time, he earned his rest.

Franco's visit was not one he was expecting. He knew things were likely to get rocky, that his job, despite being held at arm's length from the circle, was going to get harder. He couldn't say no though. Jimmy watched these kids grow and as the children of his best friend, he felt protective over them. He knew Agustu would want his kids to succeed and he couldn't bring himself to deny Franco his help.

What exactly happened with Azazel and the family was still only hearsay for him. He had heard the rumors, seen some of the effects himself. Still, his time spent with the late Consilierge was limited. It wasn't enough to make his own assessment, not thoroughly. He assumed, these rumors had to hold some truth, that they were the reason for his demotion. Still, Agustu had trusted him till the end. It was a conflict with Franco's distrust. It left Jimmy in a pretty prickly situation. For now, he decided to play Switzerland. Atleast untill he had seen for himself where things sat. He was going to make sure everyone knew his stance, Azazel included. He was going to make his proposal of peace.

He sat at a small table off to a corner, a place where the lights didn't quite reach all the way, where a muted shadow covered the wood he rested his elbows on.

"I didn't ask you here to gloat or patronize you." He lifted his hands as if to show he meant no harm. "I don't know what happened, and I'm not really in a position to have an opinion on the matter but I want to make sure we don't have any bad blood."

Careful eyes studied his companion's reaction. That would be important, how he handled this. It would be the first mark in his book of considerations.

"I didn't want to compete with you then and I don't now. I came back as a favorm that's all. I'd like to think we can be civil, keep the peace, work in conjunction."

emma bit her lip as she opened the door and slipped inside the large house. she’d been instructed to be home before 5 pm and it the last time she’d looked at her phone it had been almost 5:10. she was worried about azazel’s reaction. he’d started out really nice and accommodating to her but over the last few weeks, his temper had been getting shorter and shorter. she did almost everything wrong and her questions always got short, annoyed answers. she was worried that she had done something wrong. something to make him angry at her. she had meant to be back on time but she’d lost track while hanging out with rosalie and had been late before she’d even made the trek home. she started up the stairs, hoping that maybe he wouldn’t notice her coming in.

The casino buzzed with noise, coins spilling from machines, cards shuffling, people laughing—false joy painting over the dread of each loss. It sounded distant as his ears rang, the buzzing muffling everything else.

His sharp breath felt through his teeth as he tried to bleed his frustration through it. Despite his efforts, it clung to his skin like a wet shirt. His vision dark with the red pigment that bled around the edges.

Nothing was quite as agitating business disguised as pleasantries. Nothing felt less tolerable than the sly casualty in the way people covered orders, especially when they came from someone who didn't have the position to do so. 'youre losing control Nic'. He had heard the phrase before, the words said with a false sense of tenderness, a fear of setting him off further. They usually regretted it.

As he turned toward the bar, the golden lights cutting through the blur in his sight enough to find the bar . He walked with heavy steps, his shoulders tight so that arms did not sway—It was the posture of a man trying to forget the storm that brewed in his veins, coiled around his bones like vines.

Dominic saw him before he reached the bar. Dark hair spilled on the counter, a class spilled at his elbow. Azazel lay motionless except for the slow rise and fall of his ribcage. The man slumped despite the lack of back support the stool offered. Dominic froze a few feet away to watch, his head tilting with curiosity, brows pinched oh so slightly as he considered his next move.

He walked past, almost as if he were going to ignore Azazel all together but at the last moment, Dom turned on his heels, one leg lifting above his waist to sparta kick him above the waist.His foot drove into Azazels ribs, they bent slightly under the pressure as the stool rocked and clattered to the floor, Azazel with it.

There was a slight twitch of his mouth, as if he were going to smirk but the muscles stopped him, remembering the frustration that was still working it's way out of his system; still draining through his pores.

"Christ."He murmured, voice low, almost a mumble. It managed to stay smooth despite the volume, dripping with derision. "Don't know how you've made a career out of sleeping."

Dark Eyes drifted up to the bartender, the glass he was polishing frozen in his hand for only a moment before he diverted his gaze and continued. Dom decided to ignore it. Dominic leaned against the counter, waving for a drink. "I could set you on fire and you'd still be snoring." He said the words without bothering to look down.

Annoyance flickered through him again, as if his body remembered the course it set out to drive in. It rose tempered with something almost like pity. To be that unaware in a world that needed to be observed so clearly. How anyone could live knowing they had so little control was beyond him.

The drink arrived at his flisted hand and he raised it to his mouth without making the effort to look at it. He let it burn his throat, as if hot coals pressed at his chest.

"Wake up soldier." He spoke the words between sips, the glass never quite leaving his face.

“What If I don’t want to fulfill your messed up plan for me?” Sam might of had his blood flowing through his veins, but he wasn’t forced to give up his own free will. Azazel’s hopes from Sam’s destiny was hanging from a thread. Sam was too head strong and stubborn to let the demon win.

After Midnight ¶ Amora & Azazel

The clock tolled twelve as soon as Amora crossed into the school's courtyard. The bell's loud, bone-vibrating trill drowned out the sound of Amora's stilettos clicking across the stone floor. She was dressed to kill in all black, patent leather pants and a clingy quarter-sleeved shirt with a deep V. If it weren't for the lustrous gold of her hair, Amora would have disappeared completely into the night.

She walked briskly across the square, stopping in the middle and bracing her hands on her hips. The darkness seemed to expand and contract around her like a breath. Night was not Amora's favour, she preferred to operate under the light of day. Luckily she was not left to wait long, a telltale crack accompanied by a whisp of smoke spoke of her companion's arrival. Amora did not turn or indeed acknowledge his presence at all, holding her ground.
