“I really cannot tell you how much I appreciate this.” mila hummed as she stood on the path near the entrance to her home. the porch landing falling through before the holidays was not something Mila was needing, but there was that one little pesky board that seemed to be a little soft underfoot, and she was just one heavy decoration from it falling through. “Does it look bad?”

One thing Colton wasn’t used to was teenage girls. He never did understand them even when he was a teenager himself. They were complicated and stubborn, and didn’t like it when things didn’t go the way they wanted. They were spoiled, and well, he wasn’t. So when he was sworn in to protect someone, he was expecting the usual government official who had some what of a sense as to what they were doing - not a redheaded teenage girl who couldn’t take no for an answer and just wanted to have “fun”. 

He had been on the job for weeks now and still couldn’t seem to catch a break. It was like he was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. And each time he said no, the girl would always do the opposite of what she was supposed to. 

He grumbled as he tailed Aria through the over-crowded building, trying his best to keep his eyes and ears open all around him in case things went downhill quickly. “What are you, trying to give me a heart attack?” He inquired once the girl slowed down and they were by themselves for the moment.

Rhianne slowly made her way up the steps that led to Colton’s floor and pushed open the door. She was still getting to know him and as much as constantly she flirted with him, she was still wary of him as well. She could never tell what his mood was going to be. Was he going to be mad that she was away from Tulach house and that she got a cut? Or wouldn’t he care? She hated not being able to prepare for someones reactions.

 “Honey, I’m home!!” She called loudly, her voice echoing throughout the floor as she started to wander through the hallway, peering in each ruined room until she finally found him.

Scout couldn’t help himself but call up his brother after inadvertently eavesdropping on Dash calling his daughters. He was a little overprotective of Briar, but it wasn’t without due cause, he was doing this with no experience at all, and his maker had been one of those people that seemed to make enemies everywhere, and he had been a part of her plots for so long. He constantly checked on her, panicked over everything, and was thankful his brother understood that to some degree. “Goodnight honey,” he said through the phone to his daughter. “And goodnight to you too Sy, thanks again. Remember if she wakes up, she’ll fall asleep if you let her sleep on your chest, and if you put a bit of vapo rub on yourself before you do it she’ll sleep like the dead... Yeah I know, I know, I promise I’ll enjoy my night off. Thanks again, I’ll talk to you later,” he said to his brother, hanging up the phone.

“Okay, so I think I just learned how to make my own pumpkin spice latte. Would you like to try some? Or how about a pumpkin pie?” she spoke up once Colton had returned from walking Bailey.  If it wasn’t clear by now, she was excited for the fall but the excitement mainly derived from the fact that no one had died over the period of the month. Did they catch the killer? No, but her guess? He or she might have skipped town and Avery was hoping for good.  However as she caught sight of Colton, her smile faltered upon seeing the look on his face. “Something wrong? Alright, if you hate pumpkin then I won’t force you to try any of the pumpkin related recipes.” she added in hopes to lighten the mood before approaching him. “--You okay?” she asks and hopes that he wasn’t being called back to work. It was hard enough to catch him on his own so to have him go back, well it would be a downer on anyone’s mood.

The chaos that broke had her pulling away from Colton almost instantly. While she had separated from him to find Vince as he had said so, it didn’t help the fact that she was intoxicated so moving through the crowds wasn’t as easy as she thought it would be. Still, with the noise and the panic around her, it helped her sober up just a bit, and that’s all that mattered. She had found Vince, but he had been looking for Rory so they decided on a meeting point, which was safe to say outside and away from all the chaos, all she had to do was find Colton and make sure he was safe. She found him exactly where she knew he would be, surrounding the area where the body lay. “Hey, are you alright?” she asks upon approaching him. By now her heels had been kicked off, her mask had been pulled off and her hair was a tangled mess of curls, but she didn’t care for her appearance as much as wanting to get out of here. “Vince is looking for Rory, but we decided to meet outside once he found her. We should go now.”

Cynthia didn’t like the idea of being locked away, but being back in the Chateau she had no choice. The sound of foot steps had her head lift up and sniff the air. She growled lightly before going back with her head on her front legs.
