Coming out was never a one time thing. Not for any of the parts of her identity that she kept close. And while it was easier when she had people she knew would never abandon her and would always have her back, it still felt a bit risky. Especially when someone found out you’d been keeping it from them for a while. Group chat wasn’t exactly how Nia had planned on telling MJ that she was an alien. It had been a slip up, a moment of forgetting that not everyone in that chat knew about her powers. It was only a matter of time, she reasoned. If they were going to work with Dreamer, they’d know soon enough. 

She wasn’t sure what MJ would say, but she wasn’t expecting that. Nia breathed a sigh of relief. “I want to talk to you, MJ. I’m just not sure what to say.”

Gwen pocketed her phone, slipped on her shoes, the chocolates she had bought and headed over to MJ’s apartment, she wanted to check on the girl, since she was worried about her. Once she arrived, she shuffled the chocolates in her arms and knocked on the door.

“Miss MJ, its your second favorite spider person?” Gwen said as she furrowed her brows together and cleared her throat a bit. “I wanted to check on you since we’re friends and I wanted to be there for you.” Was she even making any sense? Who knows. “I also brought some chocolates with me.”

“It can be both!” Nia protested. She liked yoga, it helped keep her grounded. And it totally counted as exercise, thank you very much MJ. “Doesn’t matter. Is that a no to my invitation then, MJ? Gwen was walking home from grabbing something to eat, knowing that it would be faster if she swung, but she didn’t want to risk dropping her food. She smiled as she walked by an older lady who usually gives her fresh fruit when she noticed MJ. She felt her smile dropped a bit, not knowing what to do or where to go, since she didnt want run away. 

You can do this, just continue walking back to your apartment. She swallowed a bit, let out a breath and continued walking, making sure she was acting natural until she stopped. She rolled her eyes at herself before she crossed the street and caught up with her. “Mary Jane! Hey!”
