Her nervous were higher than every before standing outside Quinn’s door. Ever since her kiss to Quinn, Niji’s mind had always gone back to it. She played it back in her mind over and over again, wondering if allowing herself to do that made anything between her and Quinn more difficult. They were friends, after all. Different friends. Niji did her best to push it out of her mind, at least for today. It was for her and Quinn, their birthdays. Niji was going to be okay for this. She had to be, for Quinn. Niji figured she was staring at the other woman’s door for what must have been five minutes before she got the courage to knock. In one hand she held her helmet tightly with a small little gift inside and in the other she was pressing a packaged into her hip to stabilize it and allow her to carry it easier. It was already a headache to try and tie it to her bike without damaging it too much. Pieces of tape lined where the cables ripped parts of the pink tissue paper. A thick, silky black ribbon was tied around it in a large bow. It was simple, but she was determined to make it look nice in Quinn’s favorite colors. She could only hope Quinn would like her gifts. Niji felt herself stiffen when Quinn opened the door. Instantly, her face burned a light pink. “I’m not too late, am I?” she asked, pushing on a smile. “I’m sorry if I am, and everything. Taking my bike was a mistake... Took me like twenty minutes to figure out how to keep this from falling off.” Niji knew she didn’t need the explanation, but, like anything when she was nervous, it all spewed out without her control.
