Seth came out of the bedroom, looking over at Summer.  He didn’t know how to be there for her after Frances’ body had been found.  He didn’t know if he should go visit Jamie and see if he even knew.  He wasn’t good at this part. The pain. He was better at revenge. And he wanted it badly.

“it’s quieter up here. kind of.” mehira commented quietly as she walked through the sliding door that led onto the balcony. she’d wandered back inside the grab them a blanket and another beer for summer but she was aware she’d probably been a bit longer than was normal. she’d spent a while just looking in the mirror... staring and trying to tell what her reflection was thinking because she wanted to know what she was thinking and then when she’d got into the kitchen she’d sort of just stared into the fridge and read the label on one of the tubs eight times while thinking about their day. the weather had been lovely. summer had looked so beautiful. they’d gone bowling and got lunch. london was frighteningly loud but whenever they’d got to a busy intersection, summer had held her hand and claimed her attention or led them in another direction. and as difficult as it was... as hard as living with a development disability could be... mehr always tried to see the positives amongst the challenges. london was loud but it was exciting. there were a lot of different people but she loved the potential of lots of cultures and stories. london could be dirty but it could be equally beautiful. and as scary as it was, she had summer who always made challenges more manageable.... even after everything they’d been coming to terms with over the past few months. “here. nice and cold.” she told summer as she held out the beer to her. she couldn’t help herself but the other hand brushed across summer’s hair. oh she loved those curls.  “thought you were gonna play your guitar for me... is that why you wanted another drink?” she asked as she sat down, feeling the seat rock beneath them. she pulled the blanket over their laps and then reached for her own drink, cradling it between her long fingers. @canthelps​

Charlie sat comfortable outside at small table on Acland Street, sipping at a small coffee and watching the people passing by, some of them hung over, some of them exhausted after a late night, some of them seeming as if the New Year hadn’t even struck them yet. He’d arranged to meet with Summer after a few brief text messages had been exchanged that day but she was late, he’d expected this and it didn’t bother him in the slightest, he’d made his home at the charming bakery and he’d stay there for hours without the slightest inclination to leave, if he had to.

Seth chuckled at their text exchange before he put his phone down and got up to just straighten the living room. His aunt was out with friends and Seth was glad that Summer had agreed to come over. He hadn’t really wanted to go out but he wasn’t in the mood to be alone either. Pizza and beer with Summer seemed like the perfect night in, especially when she started to get a bit flirty with him. It was hard to deny how beautiful she was, and he didn’t see the point in doing so.

He checked his hair and breath before sitting back down on the couch and waiting to hear the knock on the door.

Seth walked into Black Lotus, giving Frances a small wave before spotting Summer and walking over to her station. “Hello there. I was wondering if you had an opening.” He smirked.
