The whole Woojin situation had made her so upset that she had even forgotten that things had been weird with Taemin. Right now she needed a friend and she didn’t think of Taemin as a brother, instead, she was just thinking of the guy she had met on her first day that had managed to help her and made her smile the whole day. Maybe if she forgot that they shared the same father, she wouldn’t make things weird between them. She was looking for a new chapter in her life, for normalcy, for happiness. But Woojin being in town definitely worked against all of that. Taemin’s offer had been like sent from heaven so she would do her best not to ruin it by bringing up difficult topics and instead, she would just think of this as a meeting between friends.

The Uber he sent to pick her up was quick to leave her in front of a building, but of course, she had no idea what the number of apartment was. She asked someone who was walking out of the apartment and even when he looked at her with the more upset expression she had ever seen, he was kind enough to tell her where to knock. So she took the elevator and headed towards the door, knocking at it and putting her best face in case he decided to look before he opened.

Dal had done her best not to freak out on her way to UCLA. She knew that Taemin was alright, he had texted her and if he was dying, he wouldn’t be able to do that, right? But she was worried and kept imagining all the possible scenarios that she would find once she made it to his room at the hospital and well, she had a very vivid imagination. So she was scared, but she was doing her best not to freak out until she had all the information.

She was carrying a box with cupcakes, baked by herself only minutes before leaving her home, and just because he had said he would throw them at her face, she skipped the sorry frosting and instead did a normal frosting and added some weird smiley faces so her brother would smile when he saw them.

She was nervous and for more than Taemin’s health, she was also worried about meeting his parents and she was praying he wasn’t as stubborn as she imagined he could be, because she honestly thought telling them that she was his brother was not necessary, not yet anyways. Knocking at his door, she walked in, unsure of what she would find.

Hani couldn’t bring herself to look at them. By all means, they were right. She did still love them, and she couldn’t imagine a time in her life when she wouldn’t. But that didn’t change things. That didn’t change the fact that she couldn’t be with them. It didn’t change the situation she was in and it didn’t make things magically okay again. As she stood in silence, all Hanbyul could think of was the words her mother had told her time and time again. Finally building up the courage to look them in the eye, she spoke softly. “Just because we love someone, doesn’t mean we’re meant to be with them.”

Taemin’s eyes were locked on her even though she refused to look at him, his eyes were practically begging for her to look up at him. Sure they didn’t have the healthiest of relationships, the back and forth made his head want to spin, but all he wanted was to have her by his side, as unrealistically as It was, all he wanted was her. He hesitantly reached out for her hand, he could hear her voice so soft and breaking a bit when she spoke, and he felt her words tug on his heart strings, it honestly made his heart crumble, because it was the furthest thing from what he wanted “I think, if we love someone we should fight for that, because....I think we’re meant to be, and I don’t want to give up on us. And I know you don’t either Hani”

Aaron pulled the sweatshirt over his head and let out a sigh of relief before laying down on the other’s bed “God these events get more stressful the older we get, if I would have gotten introduced one more time as their charity case, I was going to snap. And poor Aaron had to meet so many girls that his parents thought were better for him than who he was currently dating. Stevie tried to avoid the suitors they chose for her, but apparently she got roped in to like three dates. Since when did these parties become match making parties?” He rolled over on his side watching the other smiling a bit, the papers scattered around their bed and the laptop in front of them, they looked rather beautiful in this moment “I wish you could have been there, I know you really had to study for your big mid-term tomorrow, but part of me wanted to be selfish with you and have you there, but if I can keep you away from those rich snobs and their harsh words, I’m also happy.”

With his head comfortably rested against his fluffy pillows, Taemin listens to Jongin’s invitation and he looks at the clock in the wall, the minutes passing by and he knows the other male is probably waiting impatiently and he has about thirty seconds left when he finally stands up and opens the door, glaring at him, with a small pout. “I’ll take the food. But this won’t be enough, not after you missed my rehearsal last night.” Crossing his arms, he tries - hard - to sound serious. “I had done it for you.”

(/he pocketed his phone when he got the reply, surprised but not bothered, he just left the shop and wasn't busy; heads straight toward the park, genuinely excited for this possibility - he needed to know how to defend himself since his mutation couldn't help with that, but he didn't get the chance to stay at the institution long enough to learn that) Is that... ? (/squinting his eyes he fixated a figure further away with his gaze, grinning when he determined that it was the special someone he had come to meet; shoves his hands down his pockets and continues forward, soon at a talking distance) Hey~ What do you have in store for me today?
