“Yes, Loggie. That is exactly what I said,” Trey added calmly, knowing better than anyone that the situation was surprising. He, after all, was surprised himself. “I want to take a few days off so we can go to the Comic Con. Together. There will be pizza.”

Of course it wasn’t just an elaborate plan to finally confess the feelings he could no longer fight. Of course not. He would never.

It was about ten in the morning, a night that definitely had gone longer than she had wanted. Nel wasn’t really sure where the sound was coming from-- the neighbors above her had been playing music rather loudly in the mornings. She couldn’t be sure. But the pounding through the floorboards radiated through to her head, creating a heavy burden. She inhaled sharply, her eyes not wanting to open but the smell of coffee was now tingling on her nose. Nel managed to crawl out of her room, pulling her throw over her shoulders as she did so. The lighting in her apartment was vibrant, but not unusual especially since Trey had been using the space a lot more. That was the point, anyways. “Trey?” Her voice was a bit raspy, she felt like she needed to brush her teeth. But first, coffee. Items were sprawled all around the living room, camera parts and portfolio pictures-- all things that Nel had learned about, but wasn’t exactly sure she knew enough to be confident on. Taking a sip of the hot beverage, she sat at a bar stool in the kitchen. “This looks like a mess.”

“You heard what I said,” Trey grumbled in frustration, still new to the whole having a friend thing. Or more than a friend, really. Or these overwhelming feelings that urged him to tackle Logan and kiss him until they were both breathless.

“I said... Pizza thursdays might be my favorite day of the week. Might.”

Oh, they totally were.

“no c’mon relax your shoulders...like this.” smiling as he helped her ease into the somewhat complicated yoga move trenton held back a chuckle at how uncomfortable she looked, his hands gently guiding her arms. “you know this shit ain’t for everybody and you really just looking like you gotta take a shit. why your face turning so red?” laughing as he teased her he brought his body up from the floor to take a seat on his coffee table. “maybe we should work on mediatating without moving and then move into some tai chi like the old folks be doing in the park. how does that sound?”

How long had it been? 5 days? A whole week? Trey wasn’t entire certain. All he knew was that something was missing, and that something had a name and a face he was having a hard time forgetting. Much to his dismay, he had gotten used to having Carter around and now he found himself forced to go back to the old routine of talking to nobody and only doing his job. It only took for him to get close to someone to realize how lonely he had always been.

The situation was complicated, for he knew Carter harbored some feelings he wasn’t sure he could return, yet that didn’t keep him from wanting to enjoy his company once more. For better or worse, Trey did care about the boy. And he cared a lot.

That night, finally tired of being left alone with his demons and knowing that sooner or later they would have to talk about it, Trey made his way to the agency’s quarters, where all the rookies in training slept, and simply walked into the boy’s room.

“I can’t do this anymore,” he prompted, not even taking the time to say hello. “I don’t trust Mr. Sanders with your training,” he added. It was nothing but a lie, though. He just wanted his pupil back.

Trey was punctual, as always. He made sure to get to the parking lot ten minutes early, like he did for any other kind of meeting. As a man who valued time, he was rather respectful of everyone else’s. Sure, he had no idea why he was taking so seriously a regular hang out with his pupil, but part of him wanted to impress. Maybe that’s also why he actually bothered to dress up nicely. Well, he repressed his feelings so much they ended up being a mystery to him.

“Hey, kid,” he greeted with a smile the moment Carter approached. Oddly enough, Trey was in a good mood that day. “Ready for the best steak you’ve ever had in your entire life?”

Love wasn’t something that Trey had thought he would have. But now things seem to be different and that was because of her. Gretchen had been one person he had tried to avoid because of his feelings for her but now, it was like he didn’t want to avoid those anymore. It was becoming pretty much impossible for him to even try.

Listening to her question, Trey couldn’t help but smile a little bit. Playful he made it seem like he was thinking about the question. “I would like to believe this means we are dating.” That was when he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
