Jingyan was a man of war. A general first, and a prince second. He had seen brutality, committed such acts with his own hands. Such things didn’t shake him, but he was nevertheless utterly sombre as he made his way to meet his mother. Despite his nature, he had come to Switzerland as Jingyan the Fifth Prince, but now his hand fell to his blade at the slightest of noises. It was clear that this was not a safe place for anybody. He worried for his family, for his mother and sister, brother and fiancee. He was capable, but could he protect them all should the worst come to China’s door.
“Mother,” he greeted her, and he bowed his head in respect. If anybody would have the wisdom to guide their family through this, it would be her, though sometimes Jingyan worried that sights were set too high, that she welcomed more trouble at the end of it all. “I hope you have not been too shaken by what has occurred here.”
