The whole thing had gone by so quickly that Tamora had actually hoped that she had Kat's powers today if it meant that she could freeze time for a few seconds and focus on what she was trying to target, but she had gotten near somebody who had been stealing at a nearby bank so there was also a bit of pride taking over as the short girl drags the unconscious much taller guy into the police department. "Holy hell that was not easy, although how could it be, look at me! I swear, it was an accident with a wrong place, wrong time situation thrown in. I go somewhere and crimes happen around me, oh, that doesn't sound right, does it?" She questions out loud with a scrunch of her nose, but once she sees the familiar face that she has seen before in photos at the Halliwell Manor, she laughs and shakes her head. "Wait, Andy? Andy Trudeau?"

     Zoe lounges on Andy’s couch, idly petting Vivi, laying her head on the armrest. She honestly can’t remember the last time she became this fast of friends with someone, but it really helps to live just down the hall, and that the guy in question is cute and funny as hell.

     Well, other than the off days that Andy has, which are happening more and more frequently. She can’t tell what it is exactly, but there are times when she looks at him, and could swear that someone else is behind those blue eyes. It could just be her imagination getting away with her, per usual, but she can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right. 

     The thought makes her glance over at Andy, sitting across from her, and she frowns, trying to think on how to breach the subject. After a moment, she decides to let it go, figuring that maybe he’s just having a bad time of things lately. Either way, he’s her friend. She knows she’ll figure out how to talk about it eventually. Then again, when would it come up naturally in conversation? 

     Still, she sits up slightly, grabbing a take out menu from where it was sitting on his coffee table, and peruses it for a moment, before glancing up. “You wanna do Chinese again tonight? I know we just had it a couple days ago, but the craving is real. It’ll be my treat.”

@normallyxstrange has two strangers coming into Embers & Ashes

     Amalthea stands perfectly still in the middle of the strange shop where Schmendrick the Magician had brought her. He had told her, only a moment ago the reason they were here, in the city, instead of out in the country, but it has already escaped her mind. 

     I swear to you, I will find a way to change you back. 

     Back into what? She’s not certain what Schmendrick believes she is, but she’s human– only a human girl. At least that’s what she keeps telling herself anytime her dreams threaten to make her go mad. There’s a small voice inside of her that keeps trying to pry into the recesses of her mind, to get her to remember something important, but she shakes it off, distracted by a gem the color of the moon, pale long fingers hovering over it, and she seems oblivious to everything else in the room momentarily. 

       Schmendrick watches Amalthea as she explores the shop, his blue eyes far older than the rest of his face, but they are still soft with reverence when he looks at the young woman. He kept telling himself that the power which turned her into a human would come back to him when it needed to, but she’s still there, trapped in that body even after the unicorns have all been rereleased into the world. Originally, he and Amalthea had set out to save all the unicorns in the world, and even though she’s not herself, as long as there’s still one unicorn left in the world to save, he’s not going to rest until she is free as well. That’s why he’s here, even though it was a big risk coming into a shop like this with Amalthea. He’s realized he can’t do this on his own anymore. 

     He looks over as two red-haired women enter the room, and approaches them after quickly glancing at Amalthea again. To hide his own nervousness, he extends a hand out to the older of the two women and gives her a weak smile.

     “Hello. Are you Mara? I’m the man who called about the grimoire. This is Amalthea, my niece.”

the meeting with the coach went rather well. considering they had won their game, she just wanted to make sure they weren’t letting it go to their head, which it didn’t mack, not much went to her head, ego wise of course. but now that was over and done with, she was carrying a basket around the seven eleven a stop on the way to her home. she had to stock up on some coke, bread, milk, milk chocolate, chocolate thick-shakes, some pizza she can slap in the microwave, and some snacks for later when she just wanted to curl up on her couch, and binge watch something, on her small tv. she turned around the isle and almost knocked some chips off of it. “seriously?” she mutters to herself, bending down to pick them up. “i can’t buy all of you.” she says, before she saw someone standing over her. seeing that it was andy, a smile appeared on her face, before she stood up, putting the chips back on their rightful shelf. “fancy meeting you here.” she teases lightly.

     “It’s not that different, actually,” Andy said. She stretched out her legs, then her arms, humming sensually with the languid movement.  “I still have my magic. I feel better. More confident.” Not that she had ever really had much problem there. She smiled and brought her arms back down. “I mean, being a vampire’s an improvement.”

so she didn’t feel bad when she paid the lady at the front desk a hundred dollars to speak over an intercom to ask andy to the reception desk. she smiled as she waited, watching the lady pocket the a hundred dollar note, before brown eyes looked to andy. “its an emergency.” she says because staff was walking around them. “we have to get to the hospital right away, andy.” she says, taking the other girls hand in her own, and she lead her out of the building across campus and toward her jeep. “so. andy. what kind of pizza would you like?”

     “Please tell me this is the batter for this supposed birthday cake you said you’d make for me but haven’t yet.” He didn’t wait for an answer and grabbed for a spoon in the drawer so he could sample it from the mixing bowl.

     “Where are the donuts?” Andy could’ve sworn there was a box of them there, with about three left. But the table in the shop’s backroom was empty. It was no mystery, really, what had happened to them.

     Vinnie.

     “Really?” Andy leaned against the door frame, one hand on her forehead, frustration palpable. “I finally get a chance to sit down after handling Ms. Worst Customer Ever, and you eat all the donuts? How unfair can you be?”

     Her younger sister glanced up from the catalog she’d been occupied with. “Pretty unfair where it counts, but I didn’t eat the donuts.”

     Andy dropped her hand and looked across the shop. “There’s powdered sugar on your shirt.”

     Vinnie paused mid-turn and straightened from where she’d been leaning forward against the counter, and looked at the evidence on her blouse. “Shit,” she muttered and immediately brushed away what she could of it. Busted.

     “Uh huh.”

     She made a face and continued to swipe futilely at the mess. “Okay, so I ate them. I never said the donuts were for you anyway.”

     “You put a box of donuts in a communal space–assumptions were made.”

     “Not my fault you assumed.”

     Andy huffed out a breath. They’re just donuts, she told herself. Let it go. She mustered a smile and flipped hair over her shoulder. “Fine. But I’ll remember this.”

     Without missing a beat, Vinnie looked back to her catalog and let out a small snort. “Okay. I’ll be sure not to remind you about it.”

      Rolling her eyes, Andy went headed back into the store room. Little sisters. It was too late to return her. Might as well just deal with her. “Brat,” she murmured under her breath just before the door slid shut.

      A smirk worked its way over Vinnie’s face. “Yeah, love you too.”
