I just want to give a huge shoutout to my writing partners. Especially those who have made an effort to build a friendship with me in any way. I know I'm not an easy person to make friends with because I'm awkward af and can generally come off as a fucking weirdo, but I truly am appreciative to all of you. You have no idea how grateful I am to have found my core group of people here. I seriously mean it when I say I love you all.

So I'm bringing back the appreciation post. Fuck it.

He'd said it on a whim, with very little forethought. It was that time of year when red and pink hearts dominated every landscape, prompting acts of love and affection. Mason was fond of Emma, so why not? It could be fun. Silly.

Inclining his head a bit, playful smile on his lips, Mason considered it. "Multiple choice question," he began. "Romantic dinner by candlelight, or raiding a supermarket for all their holiday chocolates? Or all of the above."

"You mean that it isn't yours?" he asks, looking at the poor, tattered thing. It isn't in the best condition, so much so that he can't quite tell what it is, though that could just be how it looks. Perhaps it's a cat or a small dog. Dogs, he doesn't like, but an undead dog isn't the same thing.

"Do you belong someplace, dou bébé?" It seems not, the little beast impresses upon him. "I would pet you, darling, but you're absolutely filthy. Quite disgusting. Don't pout, it isn't your fault. -- Can you tell what it is?" he suddenly turns his attention back to Emma again in the midst of his conversation with the mysterious rotten animal.

"Hell nah. I'on like all that shit she got up in her face. She looks like she ain't even got no eyebrows, and she's goin' around with just half her hair cut, too. And that shit's on purpose."

River put the car in park and turned it off. He looked at the address that he had written down on a scrap of paper. After a moment he looked up to the house that he parked in front of. He was told this woman could help him figure out why when the moon is full he can't remember what he did that night. After waking up from these spells he would wake up to a trashed-out apartment and he would also have blood on him. It was never from him and he had no idea where it would come from.

"This is crazy." He mumbled before getting out of the car. River locked his car, put the keys in his pocket, and walked up to the house. How could this person even help him when he didn't have a clue what was going on? What did she know that a team of doctors didn't? But River desperately needed answers so once at the door he knocked a couple times and waited for the door to open.

Henry picked up all the dishes and cups that had littered his room for weeks and brought them to the kitchen. He saw his mother sitting at the table with a cup of coffee. She looked to be in deep thought but he greeted her nonetheless. As he waited for a response he brought the dishes to the sink.

Once the dishes were in the sink he turned around to face his mother, who hasn't answered him yet, frowning he sat across from her at the table.

"Mom? You okay?"

She walked around from the table and stood in front of the other woman. ❝Thanks for showing up. I was looking forward to today. It's been so long since we've last spoken.❞

     “Why would I do such a thing?” he asked, even as he selected another smooth stone from the ground. It wasn’t necessary now, Emma had replied, but still he held it in his palm. “Ah, yes. Because I. Am. Drunk.”
