to those unknowing of his profession, Nico looks like a morning person wide awake and ready to go every morning as he steps into the diner two blocks away from the club. he’s been going there for as long as he’s been working at bliss, so he knows the owner and all the waiters and waitresses that come and go. in fact, he is actually looking for the one he knows way too well and hasn’t seen since early afternoon the day before so he asks for Daisy in between having his coffee and bagel brought to his table. he is told she called in sick. he doesn’t press the matter but takes mental note to run an obnoxious questioning as soon as he gets home to their shared apartment. he never wanted to have a room at the club -- he might like to go there and have a drink on his night off, but that’s about it, he doesn’t need to live there as well, nor has he ever wanted to. so he rented an apartment and looked for a roommate to split rent and costs with. it’s effective and fun and came with good company too. he and daisy always got along, even before they met face to face and things proved to work out perfectly when they started sharing the house as well. no one gets in each other’s way, they both annoy one another and are always there for each other, like all best friends should.
so when he throws the keys aside after going in and screams out his usual ‘honey, I’m home’, he’s pretty offended when no one groans at him at least. he walks into her room, knocking twice before pushing the door open because if it’s not locked then he’s definitely waltzing into the bedroom. weirdly, the curtains are closed, the room is dark and there is a bundle under the covers. he walks over to the bed and sits on the edge, pulling the covers down a little. “are you actually sick or just hungover?”
