When Kohl had woken up, he’d figured that any of his old connections that he’d had back in Chicago would be long gone. He’d figured out it had been almost a year since Isaac had taken control, and he knew he was better off to start fresh here. It didn’t bother Kohl, he liked a new challenge, and with the recent destruction of the city, he was thriving from the chaos of the aftermath.
When he’d heard about King being in the city, it was a pleasant surprise. While the two weren’t particularly close, they ran in the same crowd for a while, when Kohl was working alongside the mob. He was even more surprised when he heard that King had come out in his true form during the invasion. Kohl had always figured that the other was hiding something, but he’d never gotten the chance to explore it further.
While he didn’t know King well, he knew him enough to track him down to a secluded park, late in the night. The man was always one for quiet. Approaching him, he smiled, enjoying the familiar face. “It’s been a while, King.” He starts. “Did you miss me?”
