The Hootenanny was already one of Oz’s favorite times of the year. It was one of the few points where he knew for sure that there would be new gossip, and often new useful gossip at that. While he did not have much hope that his kids would behave themselves here, he had given them each a mission to collect as much information as they could from tonight as possible.
At the moment, however, Oz was lingering over at the bar, socializing with whoever happened to be open to such around him. Oz was not a particularly trusted man, and for good reason. He took pride in his criminal empire- and even more in his ability to have kept it untouchable by the law for so long. Yet despite his negative reputation in terms of his work, Oz was also known for his positive traits as well; He was quite the handsome man, very charismatic, and had a vast sense of humor. He had spent nearly his whole life in Redwood, and no matter how bad things got- or he got- he still had an energy that many did enjoy having around.
The same teachers that sent him to the principal’s office were the ones writing him letters of recommendations for scholarships due to his intelligence and innovative nature. The same kids he’d scam in school still wanted to be as cool as him, and even as an adult, Oz managed to thrive in Redwood’s underworld without many inherent enemies. That’s not to say he was friends with the rest- none of them trusted each other worth a damn as far as he could tell. But so far no one wanted him dead, and Oz never minded lending a hand if it’d get him paid and the business wasn’t something he didn’t approve of. He had also, over the last few years, made a few genuine friends too. Namely, his right hand woman, Rosetta.
Now cops, on the other hand, those were the types of people around Redwood who truly did want him gone, and probably dead. Most especially the Guardias. Oz had been a bother to the RHPD since he was a child and he was not going to let up any time soon. For starters, it was simply just too fun. So when he saw a familiar blonde approaching the bar, he greeted her.
“Evening Officer, gonna ticket me for loitering?”
