The fact she wasn’t speaking worried him. Maybe it wasn’t the right time. Maybe he should’ve waited, like he planned. Lang had gotten impatient, and the proposal wasn’t going quite as he thought it would.
She hadn’t said anything. Oh, God. He was doing this wrong.
He looked down at the box in his hand, prying it open. He would’ve gotten silver, but seeing as how he was ‘allergic’ to it, he opted for platinum. It wasn’t very flashy, something simple but still pretty, with a single diamond setting. He hoped Faith liked it. He began to ramble, not thinking about the words coming out of his mouth, just saying something, anything to fill the quiet.
“I got a ring. It’s not a big thing and I’ve been carrying it around for a while, kind of just waiting and maybe it’s not the right time and maybe it is--”
When Faith spoke, his head snapped up, staring at her. “Was that--? Yes? You said yes.” Lang’s face broke out in a wide smile. “Yes!”
His arms went around her, picking her up as he embraced and kissed her.
