Lucian wasn’t a child of Athena, but that didn’t mean he was stupid. The way she talked about the books, it was clearly personal. Matching it with the description of the girl he had been reading about, the demigod turned back to the book only to glance up at her again.
“Looks like you’ve come much further since then, Annabeth Chase.”
Even he, for all that he’d gone through, had never been down in Tartarus. He could imagine it easily, but he doubted it would come close to the true horror of it.
Life always was just shitty for demigods. The cycle didn’t change, but the gods did get new and improved ways of making them miserable. “I suppose this explains all the rumours I’ve heard of trouble with the gods here. I’ve yet to interfere, it doesn’t seem to be my problem, although I am... you could say an early edition of your Luke Castellan, from the books before.”
Despite what people might think about him, Lucian did have a slight sense of humour, if it leaned to the sarcastic side, so he bowed stiffly, leaning on his cane. “Lucian Hall, Miss Chase. Son of Hades, and much more importantly, the man who tried to burn down Olympus after being foolish enough to save it.”
Tilting her head slightly to the side, her glare mostly holds suspicion as she presses her lips together in thought. "I've had to, there's a survival instinct in everyone and fighting is just a part of what we do." She responds back, fiddling with her camp necklace as she looks down. "If only they could have just stayed as rumors, but there's a whole war going on thanks to me and the gangs." The glare she had earlier only hardens at the mention of him being an early version of Luke. "Oh, di immortales." She mumbles, making a face at his bow. "If Olympus winds up here, I would like it to be known that I would more than happily fight you if you try to burn it again, mostly because as a few books before said, I was an official architect of Mount Olympus. The only foolish idea is when one thinks they could bring the gods down, I don't like them, but I'm not stupid enough to try that."
