♚ THE CROWN & ♞ THE STEEL––—
{ ♞ } He was the bastard son of a british royal and copper skinned slave woman. Destined for greatness yet shut out from society as an inbred— something to be ashamed of. With any strong lad who was unwanted by society, Alfred Jones (yes, named after Alfred the Great), was enlisted as an officer in the King's miltary—with the pulling of a few strings from his father. Brute strength and a natural inclination for handling a sword brought the blonde far in the ranks— and in fact, he started gaining the slightest bit of respect from his peers— after being saved by the daft soldier a few time. Years going by, Alfred earned the title of Knighthood—well—almost. He had one more task before he felt the cool steel of knighthood press against his shoulder, acknowledging him as a hero. He had to escort the King safely to a business arrangement. Certainly this wouldn't be so difficult if Alfred Jones hadn't detested the high court— after the actions of his father and those around him, the blonde hand't thought to kindly of the court. The fact that their paycheck was the only thing to support him and his mother made him cringe. He cleared his throat, clenched knuckles tapping on the wooden doorframe. ❝Sir— We need to hurry if you're going to make it. Unless you want everyone to find out you're leaving and ambush you on the spot.❞ Mumbling his insults, the brooding soldier took a step back, steel armor making a rather annoying restling sound in the silent hallway. It was nightfall— and Alfred had never been alone with royalty before. In fact, the others aiding them on this escort were already knighted and trusted by the King. The idea of tagging along on this trip terrified him.
