after her party (and all of the drama that came with it) charlotte really needed someone to talk to and some cheering up. in her luck, she had received a text from travis about meeting for a catch up and one of their boozy brunches, with that, charlotte happily agreed.

entering third street restaurant decked out on her trademark pink, she found travis already at the table and made her way over to him.

After the conversation she had with her mother, Elise needed to get away. She couldn’t go home because her dad would just ask so many questions on what is happening, and her sisters would as well. She would never get any freedom at all. Sighing softly, she started walking, where she’d end up she wouldn’t know. Her eyes were watery, and she just couldn’t care if anyone saw how much of a mess she was. Elise hadn’t realized how late it started getting until she noticed the time. Her eyes widened as she focused on her surroundings. “ Hey, I was wondering if you would be able to pick me up? If you’re not busy of course.” She typed out and sent the text to Travis. He was the only one right now she could talk to. @thisxpoison

Lorelai was a tricky woman to get an audience with. Like Oz she was typically a very busy bee, and also Oz got the distinct impression that Lorelai also played hard to get sometimes in order to make her appearances shine even brighter. She was a luxury, after all.

Now, however, her lack of presence in Oz's life had gotten to an extreme degree that had never happened before between them; not as children, and not now in their middle age. If something was wrong, Oz's efforts to get in touch had been rather unsuccessful, and the last thing he wanted to do was annoy her.

So, Oz got creative. When he saw a familiar tramp of a face pass on by, he did a whistle more apt for calling over a dog than a person, and gestured for him to come over.

"Trav," Oz said, as if they were far closer than they actually were, "You wouldn't happen to know where the queen of of this town has gone, would ya?

she was in an incredible mood today. the plants were thriving, it was a sunny day, everything was coming up fawn. she'd even managed to get a box of those delicious cookies that she was on a hunt for. today was the best day.

practically skipping her way down the street, she waved at people she passed by that she knew and stopped when she almost crashed into travis.

"op, sorry. i wasn't looking. as an apology, would you like a cookie?"

Piper supposed she should have been shy. Cassie could get away with running up and hugging Travis's leg but she should have remembered that she couldn't. However, Piper wasn't shy; not after 3 months during his busy season. She'd barely seen him and it had been....well it had been more difficult than she had thought.

Piper had never been one of those girls to check her phone or delete texts before she sent them, afraid that she was sending him too many. She'd never worried about calling them too much. Most of the time she didn't want to talk to them anyway. Still, she had found herself checking her phone before she went to bed to make sure that she hadn't missed a call. Hell most of the time before she had forgotten where she had even left her phone, much less taken it to bed with her!

Taking Cassies lead her arms wrapped around his neck in a full-bodied hug. She didn't pull away either, eyes closing as she took in the familiar texture of his worn t-shirt, the smell of him, the warmth of his body. She didn't even pull back as she looked up at him, arms still wrapped over his shoulders, chocolate eyes darting over his sun stained face before she leaned in, lips grazing over his cheek, a wide smile across her features at the words.

"I missed you too."

"We missed you!" Cassie cut in.

Piper smiled and nodded but whispered, "I really really missed you." She wanted to get that point across, fingers playing with the hair on the back of his neck affectionately.

She couldn’t help but look at him for a moment, trying to see if he was serious. This was his world and yes she had just shown up at one of the shows that he had said he was doing in Lousiana. She hadn’t thought that it would be intruding really. Cassie had begged her to go. That she wanted to see all the real riders now that she had gotten so into it with Travis. Piper had to admit that he was probably right. She would most likely be getting Cassie a horse at some point or taking the gentle giant once it was done with doing shows…something that she had secretly been doing some research into. Travis was already encouraging it and she didn’t want to give him too much affirmation that he was right…yet. She would keep resisting until she couldn’t anymore just because she wasn’t willing to loose this battle too easily. But as for today, when Cassie did want to do somewhere, Piper didn’t say no. Plus she could see more of the kinds of things that she would need to know and get, list tucked into the back of the leather bound notebook she always kept in her bag for notes, recipe ideas and now apparently horses.

Now that they were here though, she realized that it might seem a little bit creepy for her and Cassie to just show up. “Are you sure? You’re working.” She pointed out though Cassie was already talking to one of the horses as one of the hands brushed it down. She pressed her lips together before looking back at Travis. She had to admit that part of her was curious to see him in his natural environment. He seemed comfortable everywhere; including her house- but this was different, and she couldn’t help but give him a genuine smile. “You don’t have to entertain us. It was just meant to be a day trip anyway. She wanted to see ‘real riders’. Not to make you jealous or anything.” She chuckled before rolling her big brown eyes. “And okay; maybe I am getting bit more information of what you two are getting me into.” She sighed theatrically, though her still smiling at him ruined the effect.

What terrible pet names would they give each other?

I dont know what he calls her besides honey and sweet heart but she calls him cowboy. As in "Go shower the barn off you before dinner cowboy." She tends to use french words too for him. prétendu Is one even before they are actually together (Suitor, boyfriend, boy I like) and Cher (Love, lovely, sweetheart) are two that she uses a lot, getting back to her Cajun roots. She likes that he doesn't know what shes saying....until someone tells him!

“I just…I don’t understand.” Piper picked up a few strands of glass off of the kitchen island. Jason and the other deputy had come and looked just as shocked as she was. This was really actually a valid reason to have law enforcement here, even if she knew that Travis didn’t like him (To put it mildly). But her first call had, admittedly, been to Travis when she had gotten home and the house was broken into, glass everywhere, things broken in the kitchen, living room and her and Cassies bedrooms. She’d quickly called her friend to pick Cassie up so she would be near any of it. She didn’t want Cassie to feel like she felt right now: Like the house wasn’t safe. Like someone had invaded the place that they slept, ate, watched movies, played games, snuggled on the sofa….everything that you were supposed to do in your private space. Some things had been taken but most of the valuables were in the safe in her father’s old office and it didn’t look nearly as vandalized as their personal spaces. Of course, people would assume you would break into the richest families house in town for money. But they hadn’t gotten the check book, the cash, the jewelry her mother kept in there, and it didn’t look like they had tried really hard. Somehow that made her feel even more worried then just some coming to steal. That had been a few hours ago though and now it was just her, cleaning up, trying to figure it out. The cops had left and there was something eeire that had never been in the house before. Or maybe it was in her, jumping at every sound, even the sound of him barging in through the shattered front door, bellowing her name.

She didn’t realize her hand was shaking until he told her to look at him. Letting out a shaking breath, she nodded slowly. “This had just never happened before. I’ve lived here my whole life. We don’t lock doors here.” She confessed. “No one does. And why didn’t they take anything? Why did they just do it to our rooms? Cassies room most of all. Shes’s not going to have anything real in there. Shes’s seven; its not like we hide diamonds or cash in there. Oh god. What if she’d been home? I mean, I know how to use the shot gun. This is the south. But I haven’t taught her yet.” She was rambling a little bit but even then, they were all logical questions. Something was very very wrong and she felt like she should know what it was, but didn’t.

Rubbing her lips together, she looked at him, trying to calm down enough to think through it. To find that allusive answer. “I’m sorry. I know you were at a show…” She finally remembered, wondering how he had gotten here so damn fast and what kind of speed limits he had broken. Rubbing her temples she leaned back against the counter, rubbing her temple. “I shouldn’t have called and had you running over here…” She shouldn’t have been scared or freaked out needing him there, she reminded herself, but that part wasn’t said allowed. “All I can do is clean up…and start locking the door.” She sighed, crossing her arms over her chest, holding herself protectively.
