Wine & Dine || Cassia & Jake

It all felt surreal to Jake as stared into the bathroom mirror and reached for his favorite cologne. He’d known about the law for a while, but it had become so much more real when he’d received his own letter, and even more again once he’d contacted the woman he was supposed to marry. Cassia. He couldn’t help but grin. He’d always made friends easily but something was different with the woman he was supposed to marry. They hadn’t even met and yet he felt like he knew her. He slipped on a shirt and buttoned his shirt all the way up before shaking his head and unbuttoning the top two buttons. Jake huffed out a laugh and reached for a pair of cufflinks. “It’s not like you don’t date.” He said to himself, shaking his head before making his way to the bench in his closet to slip on a pair of shoes and tie them up. “Stop acting like a kid going on his first date.” Standing, Jake grabbed a light suit jacket before making his way to the elevator of his building.
20 minutes later, Jake was pulling up to the address Cassia had given him. He took the steps two at a time before he stopped in front of her door, pausing for a moment. Clearing his throat and swallowing the lump in his throat. He raised his hand and knocked on the door.
