Market Mishap

Peter and Lucy arrived at the bimonthly market as they did each time: in the middle of the market’s opening adorned in clothes worn by common people of Narnia. Often to blow off steam, get out of the castle for a while and just bond with his youngest sister, the High King attended the gatherings to buy and sell goods and support the local farmers and fishermen. Usually the merchants would recognize them, but out of respect they did not bring attention to their appearances. This time, Lucy was searching for something special to give to Mr. Tumnus for his birthday (the fawn insisted on only small items, hand crafted things) so she broke away from Peter to do a quick overview of this month’s tables. Meanwhile, Peter was looking at a particularly fine collection of woven blankets when he bumped shoulders with a rather radiant woman, knocking her basket to the ground. “ Oh, please forgive me, Madame, I am such a clumsy bafoon some days, I swear... “ he mumbled as he leaned over to assist her.
