also i just remembered this because of tonight’s episode but the torah forbids drinking/eating blood...can you imagine how fucking hard that must have been for simon? to be forced to do exactly what his religion tells him not to in order to stay alive? how he has to go back on this essential part of himself in order to keep himself and those around him safe from his bloodthirst? how he can’t stop himself from craving the very blood he grew up believing to be wrong? i can’t imagine how hard that was and is for him. and the fact that he can’t say “god” without choking, how he can’t go on holy ground anymore. i wish that we had gotten to see more of his relationship with religion after he was turned and i hope we get to see more of simon’s fight to stay connected to his religion despite being a vampire in the future
