There was something about having someone in your personal space that changed your perspective entirely; like how her friend’s things seemed to make their home on Sofie’s carpet and couch. She didn’t mind the crashing in, but it acutely reminded her of why she lived alone.
But she needed her, and there was no fucking way that Sofie was going to let her fight for that heartbreak hotel of a house where Carson and his new bride were staying. Whatever they were it wasn’t fair on her best friend, and everyday, Sofie Desai made it her mission to wipe the tears and help her face the world.
Like they were doing today, standing in the balcony, enjoying the wind and the view of the city below. “I was thinking we could do something at the park today? I hear the ducks are quite lovely down at the pond. Or a jog, I could totally go for a jog. What about a picnic?”
