books ive read this past week. i really liked the prose in julia armfield's short stories. even if i couldn't fully understand where she wasn't getting at (in terms of what the stories represented), it was really nice to read.
imogen binnie's book was great. i don't know if i'd recommend it to everyone but i really enjoyed reading it. kind of felt like the main character was my older sister in a way. probably because she reminds me of my sibling when they were in their teens/20s.
i was really hoping to enjoy waubgeshig rice's book. the premise was really cool (indigenous community in an eternal winter post apocalyptic world), but the characters were just so.... bleh. maybe i'll come back to this author in a decade.
that one scene where the phantom thieves gather after finding out they have a bounty on their head
