Full Biography: In today’s technological age, being versatile is essential to thrive in the music business: meet Christian Meyer aka Swissivory, a multifaceted and multitalented DJ / Producer / Remixer.

Born and raised in the Ivory Coast to a Lebanese-Liberian mother and a Swiss father, Christian learned how to play the piano at 8 years of age. His affinity for music steadily grew during his adolescence, as he was exposed to urban and pop music through friends, but raised on classic soul, disco, funk and rock records at home. This made him appreciate the value of many music styles.

Swissivory earned his stage name in 2001, where he began to mix at local college parties during his studies at Harvard and Boston University. His first break as a club DJ came in 2005, when he got an opportunity to play as the backup DJ for Pup Dawg of JAM’N 94.5. Because of his diverse and innovative track selection, he quickly made a name for himself in Boston. Be it a college party, a wedding, a club event or a cruise, Swissivory was a star on the rise in New England.

In 2006, however, his life changed forever… His mother, based in Switzerland, survived a car crash, only to become fully paralyzed. So he decided to move back to Europe to be closer to her. “This was a life-changing experience for me. Her will to survive inspired me to pursue my dreams.” Indeed, despite having to start from scratch in a new place, he never gave up and began to rebuild his name. Bad news for the competition: inspired by mother’s willingness to make the best out of her situation, Swissivory set himself high goals for his music career.

As a result, he has now become one of Switzerland’s most booked DJ’s, amassing up to 150 gigs per year, nationally and internationally. He regularly travels throughout Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Not only known for his DJ skills, he is a humble, hard-working, and easygoing person to work with. This is why Swissivory has been the go-to DJ for afterparties with Rihanna, Fabolous, Ryan Leslie, Omarion, Marques Houston, Method Man & Redman, Yung Joc, Jadakiss, Xzibit, TOK, MOP, Trey Songz since 2007. Swissivory also has a strong Facebook, Myspace and Twitter fanbase.

Aside from his DJ success, Swissivory the producer has had over 1 Million clicks on his beats website. His production credits include DMX, Busta Rhymes, Keith Murray, Redman, and more. His remixes and original productions are played by club DJ’s and radio stations around the globe. He helps independent artists get their tracks placed on his mixtapes, where one can hear personally recorded shout outs from artists such as Rick Ross, Talib Kweli, Gyptian, Lil’ Jon, Pitbull or even Sean Paul. Famous Energy Zurich radio personality “Jontsch” described him as “naturally gifted supertalent”; Cassie’s über-producer Ryan Leslie gave him thanks for mixing some of his favourite songs during his set. Yung Joc shouted him out on stage during his show, appreciating him stepping in because his own tour DJ’s equipment had collapsed during the soundcheck. This willingness to always find a solution with promoters is what has made Swissivory not only a crowd favourite but many event promoters’ first choice when booking DJ’s for their their events.

Overall, words like pianist, producer, songwriter, club/radio/mixtape DJ, remixer, MC or promoter can be used to describe Swissivory. However, he sees himself as someone who just wants to “bring a positive change to the community and give people memories of a lifetime”. As the ever humble Swissivory explains: “I want them to wake up the next morning and say: ‘Last Night Swissivory Saved My Life!’”. One could argue that his down-to-earth and hard-working personality is what makes Swissivory different from the rest: because no matter how much success he has achieved, he never forgets where it all began, and the good news for music lovers around the world, is that he shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
