Ever since her little fiasco with the museum break-in, Kat hasn't been able to stop thinking about what happened. Normally, that wouldn't be a bad thing - despite the risks, it'd gone as smoothly as it could've done, with no-one caught and a thrilling memory to show for it... but as it is, she only feels restless. There's just too much that seems to be driving her crazy!
Maybe it's because of that kid she met - Daisuke, his name was, right? She hasn't seen him ever since that night, so she doesn't know if he managed to get out safely. And to be honest, it kind of feels like that's her fault. Reckless and rebellious actions are more familiar to Kat than her own name, but now that the moment's passed, she's realized just how stupid her actions were, considering what could've gone wrong... she's not normally quite that bad.
And the alarm going off - well, she can't say if that was her fault for sure, but what if it was? Devil-may-care attitude aside, Kat has never wanted to get other people in trouble because of the things she does. If it's just her, that's one thing, but... the thought of getting someone like Daisuke hurt makes her gut twist with guilt and dismay. Even if she'd been exaggerating her concern for him to Dark at the time, it wasn't all a lie, either.
So when she next spots him, sitting on a bench out in the open and seemingly perfectly fine, it's hard to resist running right over. As it is, she does approach eventually - after a bit of consideration - but she makes sure to check that no-one else is listening before she starts to talk.
"Hey. Guess you survived the night, huh? ...Funny how we keep running into each other."
