“What are you sorry for?”
His voice was so weak as if it hadn’t been used in a long time. Not so strange considering this very body had been dead for... well, frankly Sam had no idea, but things were undoubtedly not right.
“Castiel, we can’t let him go like this.”
Sam struggled to his feet while the two angels spoke. One was supposedly familiar with him. The look in his eyes were full of sorrow and sympathy. The other one had none of that. In fact Sam could only watch as a the woman put her angel blade back in her belt and stepped closer to him.
“What are you sorry for?!”
Sam repeated to the familiar angel when he didn’t get an answer. He couldn’t wait longer though. The female was reaching out to touch him, but Sam was quicker. His eyes flashing black and he crashed into the woman instead. Grabbing at the angel blade from her belt, he pulled it from her and stabbed her repeatedly in the chest while her whole vessel shone as the angel within died.
“Sam! I’m sorry it took so long. I have tried so hard to get you out,” Castiel apologized, backing away, but trying to reason with his old friend,
“I’ve tried to put your soul back in your body, but-”
“-It’s not quite a soul anymore is it?” Sam asked and lunged at the man, but by now Cas had mojo’d away. Leaving Lucifer’s favorite little chew toy back on earth. Back in his old body. But not quite right.
