"Well that was unexpected."
Jiyong was a close friend of hers, always around her to watch over her. He wasn't always affectionate with her, but she remembered that if she even uttered a request to him, he'd be there to help her. He knew everything about her. He knew how she acted, what she did, what she liked, he was close to her. One of her closest friends; one of her best friends.
Knowing her also gave him the right to know her fiancé. Chaerin and her fiancé were together for over a year now, and all the credits could be given to Jiyong. Feeling uneasy that day, she called him. No one else would answer, so she only looked for him at that point.
Looking for her phone, she quickly found it and looked through her contacts. Aish, hurry up, Chae-- ah, prince. Quickly calling him, she rushed to the bathroom with her phone on her ear. He finally answered, her voice was covered with pain and discomfort when she replied to him.
"Jiyong-- can you come over?"
"Chae, what's wrong?" She heard him reply with the same amount of worry, and was told that he would be there as soon as possible. She had been feeling nauseous for the past week or so, not knowing why. It was unusual for her, because she would feel sick for no reason.
She left the bathroom, noting that the feeling quickly subsided. If Chaerin didn't eat, she felt sick. Making her way to the kitchen, she quickly found some fruits in the fridge, and juice. Before setting down the items in her hand, she heard the bell ring. Kicking the fridge door shut, she quickly made her way to the front door. Opening it, she saw the worried face of Jiyong.
"Chaerin, are you ok? What's wrong? Are you sick-- did you eat something bad? Did you get enough rest?" He entered quickly, throwing all these questions at her. Chuckling slightly, she nodded.
"I'm fine! I just feel a little sick, not sure why though." Pulling him in, she made her way behind him to shut the door and lock it.
"Take off your shoes and I'll get you something to eat as well," she left him to make her way back in the kitchen. Since he was there, she decided to eat actual food. Finding the bread, she went to the fridge to find meat, and cheese and any other toppings he would want. He was a man full of variety, and full of surprises. Instead of making it for him, she washed and cut up a bunch of things they could put in.
It took a while, but they finally got food. Taking a bite of her sandwich, she looked up at him.
"It's ok, right?" He was watching her, to make sure she was ok. "Why are you looking at me like that--" She stared back at him for a while.
"To see if you're fine, tch," she shook her head with a slight smile. Before taking another bite though, the nauseous feeling came back. Dropping everything, she rushed to the bathroom and slammed the door shut. Everything she ate came out. Hearing rushed steps behind her, the bathroom door swung open. She was crouched over the toilet and Jiyong was right behind her. Washing up, he helped her back into the kitchen.
"I'll be right back, ok? I'm gonna get you something." Confused, Chaerin watched as Jiyong left.
Coming back a few minutes later, he rang the bell again. Opening the door, he pulled out what he went to go buy.
"Go, use this. I'll be in the living room." She was confused until she looked down at his hands. He pulled out a pregnancy test from the plastic bag he was holding. Her eyes widened slightly, feeling slightly embarrassed. Making her way to the bathroom, she stayed there and took a while to realize what she actually saw. Her heart was about to beat out of her chest. She had mixed emotions before going to him. Making her way to the living room, she looked down at the stick with shaky hands. Looking up at him, her voice was just as shaky.
Turning to look at her, he was just as shocked, but his expression softened.
"Well that was unexpected."
