On 4 May 1961, the freedom riders left Washington, D.C., in two buses and headed to New Orleans. Although they faced resistance and arrests in Virginia, it was not until the riders arrived in Rockhill, South Carolina, that they encountered violence. The beating of Lewis and another rider, coupled with the arrest of one participant for using a whites-only restroom, attracted widespread media coverage. In the days following the incident, the riders met King and other civil rights leaders in Atlanta for dinner. During this meeting, King whispered prophetically to Jet reporter Simeon Booker, who was covering the story, ‘‘You will never make it through Alabama’’ (Lewis, 140).

The Corrupt Knight, a member of the triad of lost souls. They would kill a now-extinct species with godly powers: giants. Their staff is actually the ripped out eye of a giant giving them godly powers. They are now locked up in a prison with chains created by the 10 arch-mages bounding them to the ground. Do NOT let them escape or only the C.O.R.E. knows what will become of this world.

Here is a bit of Palo Alto history I jotted down while visiting long time Palo Alto resident Granny Shirley, age 85.

The year would have been 1967 and Shirley joined racial equality activist Henry Organ on a committee of the Congress of Racial Equality (C.O.R.E.) Their committee addressed employment discrimination on the Peninsula.

They stood at the corner of Embarcadero and El Camino, held signs and sang the following song to the tune of "The Old Gray Mare."

We are all for equal opportunity, equal opportunity, equal opportunity, We are all for equal opportunity, at Stickney's Restaurant!

When eggs were thrown at them, someone looking for a towel or something to wipe off a demonstrator (who had been hit and had yolk dripping down their face) managed to get a pile of paper napkins by running into to...Stickneys!
