Talk About Happy Things

“Sirius spoke to me at the festival.” Regulus said over tea--literally. He had sat there, mussing with the table pieces, head in his left hand, right hand plucking about where the dessert forks went with a single mindedness that likely crossed the boarder into obsessiveness. His head had wobbled a few times, almost dozing, and nearly tipped into the steaming cup.
When he finished with that, half dozing, he’d get into refolding the cloth napkins by hand. Then sorting the sugar cubes.
If their conversation lasted that long--sometimes it didn’t.
“He thought I was someone he knew, at first.” He added, because it seemed important to the propriety of any conversations with or about his no-longer-brother. “Actually that happened a lot at the festival. Being the wrong person.”
He straightened a bit, reaching for one of the napkins--opening it, folding it, opening, refolding it. It was easier to do this then to look up and straight at Ophelia or pretend to look at her by looking just shy of her. “I don’t think he enjoyed it.”
