cosette had the brilliant idea to try to go into the city on her own and a bit later on than she usually did. the sun was setting by the time she left, so the skies were dark by the time she arrived to the place alex usually hung around. of course she couldn’t tell if he’d be there that night, but she hoped he would. cosette had told her father that she had confessions to get off her chest for her own laziness in the past few days, but the lie all but killed her. it was such an odd feeling, but her need to see alex overcame that.
a figure followed her, but the girl paid no mind as she was far more concerned with finding alex. “a bit late in the evening to be walking alone,” the voice spoke, sending a chill down her spine, but cosette still turned to face the man -- brows furrowed in concern. “i am not. i am meeting a friend,” she admitted before continuing on her walk. it was unfair of her to judge on appearances, but something felt wrong about her unwanted company. her intuition was proven correct when she felt a rough hand around her wrist and her waist, suddenly pushing her to the nearest wall and threatened for her belongings. she hadn’t brought much, just a small bag with a few coins, but the man yelled for more.
