dumb person: lgbt is a trend nowadays. seems like everyone is coming out as gay or trans. people are only doing it because it’s a trend.
me, an intellectual: more people are coming out about their identity because people are learning to be more accepting that these people actually do exist. People are finding out they’re lgbt because they are starting to realize that they don’t have to be cookie cutter and live up to the expectations and fit the mold or role that everyone else wants to force on them. People are learning that it is okay to be who they really are, and they are beginning to embrace that.
