Still laughing about Caleb casually telling Essek in front of the Marble Tomes that he was in training to be a Scourger, when they have one in custody right that second for attempted murder in the Dynasty. Like from Caleb's perspective he'd established his goodwill pretty loudly via the beacon and even said he was from an "inner circle" of the Empire. But I feel like "btw that inner circle was assassins" is like a next level of bold to say when there has just been an assassin attack. And Essek maybe reads Caleb's earnestness correctly because he doesn't seem alarmed and just quips "are you telling me you're a Scourger?" and easily accepts the answer of no; it came across almost more like a teasing remark than anything else. But I also can't help but wonder if Essek, secretly-working-with-the-leader-of-said-assassins-(among-others) Essek, was also playing 5D chess with himself in his head for a moment as Caleb unknowingly threw yet another wild curve ball specially formulated to incite Crisis Mode for one (1) traitor in particular
On episode 70 and I love Caduceus being like "jesus christ have yall just never been trusted before?"
And then Beau (daddy issues) being like "No" while Fjord (daddy issues), Jester (chaos incarnate), Caleb (everything issues), and Nott all stare at him
I've got to admit, on first watch, I wasn't sold AT ALL on Caduceus' proposition to go North at the kiln. I found it hard to understand his reasonning, I thought it was not related to the Yasha problem but only about his backstory (it's fine to explore the backstory, but to link it with the urgent arc like this felt weird, especially since Yasha's loss hit the Mighty Nein hard, and they do have a sense of urgency brought by the Bright Queen's supervision). It did not help that Taliesin was cryptic.
But now in retrospect, I do understand. Caduceus is a believer in higher help and faith, and the kiln is a sign for him. I'm much more of a Beau & Caleb in life so this is hard to trust for me, but I do understand the reasonning. Plus the Legend Lore on the sword gave him the sign he cas looking for.
Nein Again music for Episode 70: Causatum under the cut! Quite a few songs this week.
At 13:50, Matt finally gets the music player working partway through his recap with Wilderness from Diablo II.
At about 21:50, Cursed music from World of Warcraft begins to play. I timestamped Cursed 8 below.

I'm pretty sure the next few songs are from the Elder Scrolls series, but I wasn't able to track them all down. I'll keep looking.
At 2:48:25, Masser from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim plays as Caleb takes back his request for training and instead asks to know more about the Scourger.
Around 3:00:00, Stormsong Valley repeats as the Nein enter the Dungeon of Penance to see the Scourger prisoner.
At 3:03:20, Matt switches playlists to replay Crypt from Diablo II as Caleb tells the Scourger to wake up in Zemnian.
At 3:09:00, Cursed music repeats as Caleb asks if the Scourger knows Bren.
At 3:12:40, Rogue Encampment repeats as Caleb presses to see if the Scourger will give any info, then ends the conversation.
At 3:17:40, The Tomb of Sargeras repeats as Yeza greets the Nein at the Xhorhaus.
At 3:19:05, Matt switches playlists again beginning with Twisted Path from Hearthstone. I timestamped it in a compilation.

At 3:25:15, The Grand Bazaar from WoW: BfA plays as Caleb speaks with Essek at the Lucid Bastion.

At 3:37:05, Twisted Path repeats as Caduceus adds a new earring and the group discusses the shrine at the tree.
At 3:40:05, Blood Moon repeats as Jester sends to Dairon and talks about it with Beau.
At 3:43:15, The Grand Bazaar repeats as Caleb returns to the Xhorhaus and awkwardly tries to socialize while Jester and Beau prep for Dairon.
At 3:48:55, Blood Moon repeats as most of the Nein decide to go to bed.
At 5:52:00, Gilneas repeats after the game ends and the cast chatters.
That's all for this week!
i've gotten to c2 e70 in my current mighty nein rewatch, and listening to Caduceus tell the story of how his family is tied to Melora (3:31:05) after everything we've learned through Downfall and especially what the Hells heard from the Matron of Ravens in c3 e109 got me thinking...
is the body that the Raven Queen had Clay, Stone, and Dust ask for Melora to help dispose of the body of the prior good of death?!?!?
they were given the task the day after her ascension, were told it was the body of a hero of the war, and "his body could not be maintained within a city for reasons that are lost, he had to be vanished"
the gods know there was someone else before the current goddess of death, but can only feel that loss in abstract without true memory of him. they all essentially knew something had happened and that the Matron was new but not the specifics. and at least a few of them seemed to not be all that fond of this newcomer
so my theory is that she wanted to use the burial of this hero as an opportunity to rebuild some familial bonds
the day after she came into being the Matron of Ravens essentially went to Melora and said "hey i have a super special body of a war hero that i need some help dealing with, any ideas?"
and the Wildmother turned his burial into gifts for three of the other gods in turn: to remind the Changebringer that nature is infinite, the Archeart that nature is beautiful, and the Allhammer that nature is the origin of material
it makes sense to me that any mortally-accessible remains that would come from the death/replacement of a *god* would have some sort of magical properties to begin with, so that could've even helped jumpstart the temples that were created
anyways. that's just a theory :)
Caleb said “do you know Bren Aldric Emmendrud” and I threw my fucking phone.
