Back in 2012, I was still teaching in South Central and trying to figure out how to bridge my organizing background with teaching in ways that honored my students' lives and gave meaning to their education. I serendipitously met @osopepatrisse when they were trying to organize with youth in the #C2ESV (Coalition to End Sheriff Violence in LA Jails), a concern that was unfortunately very resonant for my students. It was incredible learning how to incorporate art, theater of the oppressed, and organizing into my social studies classes with the team. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to have one of the most powerful teaching experiences with @osopepatrisse and the @dignityandpowernow team. So excited to read #wtcyat, a #blm memoir and to continue to learn and be in solidarity with the struggle for freedom ❤✊🏽
