Almost High Noon at Woodford by Greg Brown Via Flickr: When I went on railfanning trips with my friend Mike Devlin, he tended to shoot throughout the day. Sometimes that meant we caught great subject matter in some uninspiring midday lighting. As we were returning from our trip to Arizona in July 1988, we spent a full day on Tehachapi. Since we were railfans from Southern Oregon, we rarely saw General Electric power on our home turf. Even though it was still fairly early in the afternoon, we were elated to catch this westbound Santa Fe drag with four big GEs and an EMD kicker. In this image, the train is hitting the east switch of Woodford siding. We would chase this one all the way down the hill to Caliente.
