C4E018 Vindicta & Vale
Hi, Critters! Before we turn tonight to the Schemers, we have some archival Seeker business to wrap up.
In their pursuit of (horrifying!) knowledge, the Seekers still managed to find themselves in as much danger as the Soldiers. Total, in eps 5-10, the Soldiers dealt 629 points of damage and took 281, whereas in eps 12-18 the Seekers dealt 763 and took 278.
The final episodes with each table do still reveal the difference in emphasis: in C4E010, the Soldiers dealt 329 points of damage and took 144, whereas the Seekers dealt 150 and took 72 in this episode (C4E018).
The Seekers’ biggest combat episode was C4E017, where they dealt a whopping 462 points of damage, taking 113 points of damage in the process. Some of this difference can be explained by enemy type, and some by… many… bad rolls on the part of the Soldiers.
The Soldiers also spent approximately 6 hours and 9 minutes of their arc in combat, vs just 5 hours and 30 minutes for the Seekers.
All in all, our top C4 damage dealer is now Julien with 364 points, followed by Vaelus with 359, then Thimble with 289 and Thaisha with 255. Averaged per episode present, Thimble still takes the lead.
Julien has also taken the most damage (178 points). Coming in second is (hilariously and/or alarmingly) Wick and his d6 hit die, with 101. Next are Vaelus with 98, Teor with 93, Occtis with 89, and Thaisha with 73. Averaged per episode present, Julien and Wicander still lead.
The Soldiers arc still beats the Seekers arc when it comes to times KOed, with a total of Seekers 2 (Vaelus and Julien) vs. Soldiers 3 (all Wicander).
And when it comes to max damage dealt in a single episode, Thimble is still in first place (168, ep 10), followed by three Seekers: Vaelus, Julien, and Thaisha (149, 138, 129, ep 17). The next-highest Soldier, below some Seeker records during the Overture, is Teor (85, ep 6).
Outside of combat, we have abundant new wisdom from the Candescent Creed to share, including now five out of the seven Shining Tenets:
I. The Light Is All. All is born of Eternal Light. From the First Spark, the Candescence is an ever-flowing river, carrying and shining upon the universe. II. Illumination Sparks Through Faith. Belief is the spark that ignites the cosmos. Souls ride the current through faith in the light, never faith in a God. III. The Luminus Shine From Within. Through goodness, those who attain inward flame shall be called the Luminus, and their glow shall be unmistakable. IV. The Beam is only seen by the Anointed, the sacred glyphs shimmer only to the family of flame. V. ?? VI. (new!) To live aglow or be unmade, that to err is to dim and to glow with rightness is to spark. The sparkéd soul shall be rekindled, the dim burned. VII. ??
Sam, your disciples await further guidance!
