The Aptitude Test
Instructions:
Clearly visualise the following situations as if you were in them. Write your answers in the space provided based on your first instinct to each circumstance. Please describe your thought process and action clearly for the best results. The same situation may have different paths depending on your initial response, so follow through with your answer (the letter a, b or c and then i. ii. or iii. underneath a letter) until the question ends. When you have completed the aptitude test, copy paste the test and submit it through the submit box.
Start Simulation Sequence:
Question One:
You are in your school cafeteria/eating area alone. Suddenly, a long, deadly looking knife and a simple block of cheese appear before you. A voice behind you says “Choose.” Which do you take?

A vicious looking dog appears from nowhere and begins to bound towards you at full speed. How do you respond?
Try to stop it by giving it the cheese
After your initial response to the dog, a 6 yr old Amity girl comes wondering into the area absentmindedly.
• a) If the dog is still alive, it advances on her aggressively. What do you do?
Keep the dog away with the knife, but if possible, don’t kill it
• b) If the dog is dead, what do you say to the girl?
Question Two:
You are standing on a bus. It is hot, sticky and the atmosphere is tense. A middle-aged, scar-faced Candor man suddenly thrusts a paper in your face, and a familiar person is on the front page. “DO YOU KNOW THIS MAN?” He shouts. What do you reply to him [exact wording]?
No, I don’t think so.
• a) If you respond that you do not know him, the man’s eyes well up with tears. “Please,” he begs “you could save me if you did!” How do you respond?
Save you from what?
• b) If you respond positively (yes you know him) the man begins to shout at you, calling you a traitor and a thief. He has his hands gripped fiercely on your forearm. What do you do?
• c) If you respond ambiguously (saying neither yes or no) the man’s eyes well up with tears. “Please,” he begs “you could save me if you did!” How do you respond?
Question Three:
You are in a large auditorium. A woman is calling your name up to a stage. She is holding a box. The audience of around 500 people are all craning their necks and looking around, but they do not recognise you. Do you go up to the stage?
Yes
• a) If no, the simulation ends.
• b) If yes, the audience breaks into applause. How do you respond?
I go with it and take a bow.
• b) i. When you arrive on the stage, the woman shakes your hands and hands you the box with a smile. You open it on stage. What is inside?
I can’t tell
• b) ii. The audience applauds as you descend from the stage. When you are walking back to your seat, a small Erudite boy approaches you. “What’s in the box?” He says suspiciously. What do you say/do?
Don’t tell him
• b) iii. The boy then asks to keep what is in the box. What do you say/do?
