dying to meet you | camille & nell
Thankfully, Nell’s time in the hospital this time around hadn’t been nearly as long as the first. They’d wanted to look at her arms again after she’d gotten out of the Ring’s dungeons and they’d brought Blanche in. Which was...valid she supposed. Even though the partial healing had moved them further along than nature would have by this point, they were still ugly wounds, healing unevenly in places, and creating a nearly grotesque pattern over Nell’s arms. People had already begun to stare at her when she went out because of it, openly curious as to what the fuck had happened to a girl her age that had resulted in such a nasty injury. She stared back at them, not hesitating to glare when they got too nosy. If they wanted to look they could fucking ask, not gawk at her like she was some sort of sideshow escaped from the carnival that was in town.
She was so busy staring back at this person that she barely realized that she was grabbing for the wrong coffee from the counter at Coffee Plus. Her hand accidentally bumped into the one of whoever’s drink she was inadvertently trying to steal, and her gaze was whipped back around towards the person’s own hand at the unexpected contact. Reflexively, she opened her mouth to give a courtesy sorry, though the word never managed to fill the shock, shock replacing the word, instead. That sigil. She knew that sigil. She’d practiced it countless times for Bea’s resurrection, and it now adorned the ribs of her sister. “Where did you get that?” Nell asked, a sense of demand in her voice as she tried to grab for the woman’s hand to get a better look.
