“Wait a second.” Allard was groggy just a moment before, but a few good rubs at his eyes and a deep breath suddenly woke him up. He shot up, realizing just how bright the sunlight was already. “What day is it?”

Chip hadn’t slept outside a couple hours on the train ride back from Three. There was too much to focus on to let a wink of sleep get in the way of it all. He only came to this particular lounge at this time because he assumed all the mentors would be occupied with something else at that hour. Drinking, strategizing, fucking, living, anything that would take them out of the mentors’ lounge.
A noise at the doorway drew Chip’s attention as he was pouring himself another glass of water. He wished the sight of Colette made him angry, but he was already angry. It was just another little twig to throw at the flames. “Wh-What th-the fuck are you doing here?”

“Okay, wait...” Mako was scratching at his chin as he stared at the map of the 124th zoo arena. “Why did they get walkie-talkies? That’s so freaking unfair!” He and Zeppelin would’ve had a blast with that.

It was a lovely necklace. She was glad to have taken it. As Surya pulled the newly acquired jewelry from her bag, she realized someone else was entering the room. “I swear, there must be an easier way to make necklaces clasp,” she complained as she tried to get the snap in place. “Did you need the room?”

Kate didn’t know what had come over to accept a date from some man she met at the bar a few days before the event but she figured why the hell not? So far he didn’t seem to be the biggest creep in the world and he was actually kind of fun to be around so tonight she was going to shove everything else to the side and just enjoy the company. As he excused himself to go to the bar, the brunette walked around herself, finding herself standing next to her boss’s wife who was looking at one of the paintings. “Are you an art person?”

There were parts of Vegas that made Beckett wonder why the city wasn’t burned to the ground the very day it was formed, but there were other districts within Vegas that had him stepping back and taking a moment to appreciate the beauty for what it was. It was no Victoria, and while he hadn’t enjoyed the climate he had to admit that Colorado had been breathtaking as well. Still, parts of Vegas held their own kind of beauty.
Standing outside an art gallery, Beckett hadn’t expected to find himself wanting to take a look inside. He was never an artsy man- far more prone to partake in extreme sports and physical challenges than painting or music, but there was something about this gallery that was inviting. Almost as if the pieces in the windows really were as intriguing as he knew they had been curated to be, even to his untrained eyes.
Still, it seemed the gallery was closed and he knew that he would have no idea what to do once inside of it anyways. Turning to take his leave, Becks was surprised to find a small brunette standing just a step or so behind him, looking up at him with blue eyes and a depth he couldn’t have anticipated. “Sorry, love- was I in your way?”
“Woah, why are you looking at me?” Noah questioned. “Did they say their doctor was British? Because I’m pretty sure that Blake was the one who took that case.”

Chip was glad for a reason to get out of the hub of the technology department, where there were no windows and the bright screens all around could be distracting. After the Reaping and the return to the Capitol, he found his attention span shorter than normal. Maybe a task like this would help center his focus, especially since sleep didn’t seem like an option soon.
“Wh-what’s th-the pr-problem?” Chip asked as he entered the room, speaking before he saw who he’d been sent to meet with. If he’d known, he never would’ve opened his mouth.
