voices whispered in her ears, a lullaby of whimpers and screams. their source, she could not see, blinded by the suffocating mist. she lay atop the soot filled floors, trying to make sense of the presented scene. but hues found it difficult to focus, her surroundings not quite clear as she attempted to sit. pain was revealed to her almost immediately, hand brought to her head as she realized the deep red liquid trailing through her face. she blinked once, twice. her body succumbed into tiredness, but to rest she could not. not when walls had crumbled, not when hell presented itself before her. further down the halls, the voices come to her once again, this time as clear as air. some pleaded for help, some cried in despair. but no sounds ever came out of her lips, in pure shock. she stood, though with clear difficulty. what she saw next, wishing she had never seen. bodies lay around, of those hurt, of those dead. she feels her heart quicken its pace, as she stares at the now clear surroundings. she feels numb, whatever content she had eaten before threatening to leave her lips. hands press against the nearest structure, taking a moment to assess the situation before her, but the situation she was not sure she ever would.
