-gently slides over both Proteus and Harrison for funsies... If you're still doing the thing-
Gender: Male (null - no secondary sex characteristics)
General appearance: Birth: Pale periwinkle skin, with somewhat darker cerulean markings that are faintly bioluminescent and gray-blue markings like freckles around his eyes and cheeks, shoulders, and hips; stunted trapezial crests and ears with only slight extensions of the shell; three fingers and a thumb on each hand, but human in shape and darker purple near the ends; four toes on each foot, more like Proteus’s with pale gray-blue webbing; and (most happily, for proteus) a fully formed tail, with three concentric chevron rings and a ridge of gray-blue. Positively enormous silvery-blue eyes with black sclera and long lashes, thick dark brown hair.Shapeshift: Fair skin with a lot of freckles, a button nose and big blue eyes, thick dark brown hair.
Personality: He’s a spoiled little troublemaker. He’s gotten away with murder since the day he was born and it shows; he can be disrespectful and snappy, but most of that -- if you believe it -- is a cover to keep people from looking too deep. Wouldn’t want the average Joe finding out your Dad was an alien, right?
Special talents: Pegasus loves sports, especially things where he can go fast, like skating or biking, even hang-gliding or bungee jumping. He also absolutely loves going for swims with Proteus!
Who they like better: Both. He gets really grouchy if someone gets too judgy.
Who they take after more: Neither, and his parents are utterly baffled.
Personal headcanon: Proteus basically homeschooled Pegasus for most of his childhood, straight off the computers in his ship if only to give the kid a firm foundation to understand what he was and how he fit into the world around him. Once he was taught how to shapeshift, though, they started taking him to parks and playgrounds to get him some social interaction -- fortunately he learned it early, even if they occasionally had to whisk him away in a hurry so no one noticed him turn blue.
General appearance: Her upper body is a fairly even blending of her parents’ genes: almond-shaped brown eyes, fair skin, and straight black hair, with a pair of small, gilded antlers that sweep back over her head from her temples. Her lower body resembles something like a white-tailed deer, smaller than Harrison but larger than Dusty when she’s fully grown, with mottled gray-brown pelt and shaggy white ruffs at her ankles.
Personality: Laurel is quiet and reserved, somewhat shy compared to her parents; she hid behind Dusty’s flank for a long time after she ought to have been independent, but she wasn’t turned out of their home before she showed she was ready.
Special talents: She’s an expert when it comes to herb lore; she can make medicines, poultices, dyes and teas from the local plant life, and is a natural healer.
Who they like better: Dusty
Who they take after more: Bit of Dusty, but she’s a lot shyer.
Personal headcanon: Laurel was slightly premature, due to her big size Dusty wound up going into early labor. She had to be carried in a sling for the first year of her life, strapped to Harrison or Dusty’s front and fed from a bottle because she was too weak to feed herself. She gained in strength and turned out hale and hearty, but that first year was a struggle for the pair-bond.
