Lily approached the entrance hall with a smile on her face, trying to step lightly. She didn’t want to draw attention to herself after hours but she also didn’t want to trip in the dim lighting. She could see Isolde waiting for her and couldn’t help the wave of relief that she felt. Their nightly strolls had become a regular occurrence and it was just what she needed right now. They could tell each other anything in confidence and they trusted each other completely, it was so refreshing. “Boo.” She whispered as she reached the bottom of the staircase.

it needed to be done, that was what catherine told herself as she made her way to the wing of her palace that currently housed the french royal family. if she were to marry a prince than it was important she know not only his father but his mother as well. 

but despite knowing these she stopped short at the doors of the french queen’s chambers, her breath uneasy as she tried to talk some confidence into herself. when that proved futile she threw caution to the wind despite herself. “your majesty.” catherine began, bowing as deeply as she could before rising, a nervous smile on her lips. “i’d hope we might visit today if you have the time..”
