Clark hadn't seen Harley since they, or at least her and Kal, broke up a little over a month ago. His heart still hurt and his mind was still trying to make sense of what had happened. One day everything seemed fine and the next she was standing in front of him telling him it was over. His work colleagues had noticed he was down in the dumps, although he couldn't tell them why, so they organized a road trip to Gotham for a night after work to hit the bars, which Clark felt was more for them than him. After the first two bars everyone had decided to go to a third but feigning the fact he wasn't feeling well Clark said he would go back to the hotel, after all what were the chances he would run into Harley in a city of millions.
Apparently the chances were very damn high as the incredibly distinctive voice of his ex-girlfriend echoed through the night. Looking up he noticed her trying to back off from a guy that was being way too pushy. At first he thought to not intervene, after all the last thing he wanted was to push his way into her life again without her wanting it but as the guy was not taking a single hint he decided to help her. As he walked over, Clark took his glasses off and undid the first couple buttons of his shirt to try and be a little less... him.
"Everything alright here?" He asked as he, maybe more out of familiarity than to sell the look, he wrapped his arms around Harley's waist. "Sorry I didn't catch up, love. There was a cue to the bathroom." He kissed her back, forcing down any and all emotion that threatened to come to the surface in that moment. "Let's go get that drink," he said looking into her eyes, sliding his hand into hers. "Have a good night, pal," he said to the guy with a nod that essentially said don't try it.
