making cloud boy a ranger is the best idea i’ve ever had because like. rangers are about home and family and safety and then they are also about Leaving It. they get their strength from being where they are comfortable but like hannah said they are the class most suited to roaming, to exploring, to leaving... and for nephel, for a culture of nomadic clans, home is not about the place, it’s about the people. they protect their people because their people are their home. they know the land as well as they do because if they don’t their home will disappear and people will die so they learned out of necessity and also out of love (duty or love? both, please. let me be both. let me do both.) and then they’re chosen! for this adventure! to protect not only their home but everyone in entropica! and it’s an honor, and they will be good at it, and they have to leave.

23. What does your character dislike in other people?

Insincerity and false flattery - ae thinks the world should function by people simply being honest even if it’s harsh to hear and if you need to stroke other’s egos to get ahead you aren’t doing enough hard work yourself

29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?

ae was always ambitious and wanted Some sort of power but ae’s become powerful in a way they didn’t expect because they were thinking something perhaps a little more nefarious. however ae loves aer position and wouldn’t trade it for the world! and of course, aer wonderful vivienne wasn’t in any dreams but is the only thing ae dreams about now

39. Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)?

for sure for sure for sure they’ve gotten bitten by animals! they work in the Wild tm and he took every bite as a learning opportunity - either to learn how to treat that animal with more care and technique to make sure it didn’t happen again, to figure out if there was a problem like a cloud burr hurting them that they could fix, or in the case of wild animals sometimes you just have to get bit to learn they don’t want pets and that’s valid.

listen this isn't fair to any other member of the pond family when plum, with the chubbiest fucking cheeks in the world, exists. but also nettle lovelove,

20. describe one of your favourite rp moments with this character

wow i do LOVE aer stories of rest especially the stone soup one... reflavoring song of rest as bedtime stories is the best thing i've ever done and stone soup especially in oakenfell is. made me emotional.

something foamy. what's the ariana grande cloud coffee? that thing.

17. when were they the most angry that they’ve ever been?

probably. i don't want to say angry but would just be very frustrated? when people make stupid mistakes especially ones that endanger other people out on patrol, and also when vana, who's another high-level cloudkeeper they are firmly coworkers with, disagrees with them on what's clearly the best option for protecting the court. however this is mostly frustration and they just go out and kick a building bc it's unprofessional to be angry.

19. have they ever been in love?

no they have a job. they think the blacksmith is attractive and hardworking but they're busy like. saving the court.

probably nephel - they don't see why you would. that whole cache of coworkers characters (also including margeaux and the windowwasher) all don't really get lying for any reason

i think also nephel, for "works in a dangerous field" reasons. also bijou, who is a hired gun, (and legally dead)

i think a lot of my characters with leadership potential have my issue where i like things to be done a Certain Way (my way) so. none of them, but nephel and eden are up there along with margeaux Sometimes

kennedi sucks in general, cas is a little self centered to Lead, ekky just shouldn't even be responsible for themselves

43. would you most like to be friends with?

i think ekky and i could hang :] but also they. they're a Lot. other than them all my silly teens are very Me so like prim and cas i could vibe with

i've decided, right now, that they're a very private person (obviously, the town knows nothing about their husband) but also super nosy abt other people's lives - not even on purpose, just like. they accidentally see in people's homes and they remember shit. on accident so they're private about their own life but know a lot about other people's

59. what’s something your character has realized?

well i've realized they're one of the characters of all time. they've realized magic isn't real, the earth is flat and orbits the sun, and there's no proof lead CAN'T be turned into gold given enough time and research (new windowwasher lore just dropper)

45. what would they never forgive themselves for?

if someone got hurt on their watch! or if they let a threat near the clan! basically if they failed at their job - they've gotten this far by being so Hypercompetent because of checking and doublechecking and keeping their guard up that any sort of failure is unthinkable. i think especially someone getting hurt bc a threat getting a little too far is one thing but if it put someone in danger? whuh oh.

18. do they see themself as a leader or a follower?

a leader! but in a working together with your team way not a i’m in charge and i’m delegating (doing no work) way. they are relatively in charge of their guard (i think i’m pretty sure we established that) and so they have learned how to command and be listened to

20. which of the five senses do they rely the most on?

this is Very fun probably. smell? which seems Weird but also it is usually very sunny up above the clouds in a near-blinding way sometimes and people can be sneaky up there bc. no floor! so hearing is also out for hearing footsteps, etc. so for their job they use smell to get Ahead of threats and changes in weather and stuff 

51. what is the most beautiful thing in the world, for them?

the sound of their people as they return from a day in the white-rainbow beauty of the cloud plains, everyone talking and safe and sound because of their work, and faces turned up to catch the warmth of the sun before they rest or get to work or just spend the day with their loved ones (everyone) all around them
