The Valentine’s Day party felt oddly comforting to August. For once, everyone was as drunk or high as he was - and there was comfort in not standing out. Admittedly, he received less attention and therefore affection from the people around him; he missed the looks people gave him, mostly because they were too focused on their own internal drama when drunk to think of August. That was a shame; he looked beautiful tonight, hair light and eyes dark, and his clothes were all nicely fitted and expensive. August thought more people should appreciate that, and he started scanning the crowd for the one person he loved to wheedle compliments from - and spotted him conversing with some fifth years. As August approached, he saw an exchange of something - maybe coins? - before the fifth years walked away looking pleased with themselves. “Making everyone happy but the one who matters,” August drawled as he walked up to Solo. “I’m offended. Stop doing whatever you’re doing that’s probably illegal and pay attention to me,” he said, before adding a, “please.” He fitted Solo with a slow smile. “Wanna get a drink? With me?”
