The wait is over! Chile could finally scream champion in their football history by beating on penalties to Argentina after an intense tie, hotly contested but goalless.
The match was the same during the 90' minutes. Chile pressed, sought, tried, suffered, they were keen, they wanted put into the game, but it was not from there, the lack of clarity in the last quarter field deprived them of installed in the game. However Argentina was not the same as the last games, a little tired and unwilling, they barely keeping the chilean attack and when they mounted the game suffered the loss of a key player for injury, Di Maria. Argentina still had the clearest options (2 in the first time) but nothing else. The match could summarize in that Chile wanted but could not, Argentina could but they declined.
After tense 90' minutes, came the unnecessary overtime, which only served to prolong the drama of penalties. The teams did not want for more,
the players were worn and were only 30' minutes vacant that none wanted to play.
And in the penal kicks, Chileans had cold head and with heart, with the desire to achieve the title, they charged in accurate way the penalty kicks, which in the end, thanks to Higuain's mistake and the stop of Bravo to Banega, they sentenced the penalty kicks for the chileans will celebrate.
By the dedication and sacrifice, Chile is the Cup champion by ending waiting, from the beginning they had the mission of giving a title to their country, and today with the heart they were able to give their first victory lap. For Argentina, it is the frustration of not being able to cut the drought and score their third America's Cup final loss, in addition to the World Cup final a year ago.
