Angels Camp had a lot of kitschy frog stuff (the town claims Mark Twain’s story “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” as its own), and I’m there for it. Except maybe for the “Fully Rely on God” bumper sticker.
I also really like the juxtaposition of movie titles in the last photo; I think they tell a story.

In this eye-opening profile of Darrell Issa in the upcoming edition of The New Yorker, we are introduced to another side of one of the most powerful men in the new Republican controlled House of Representatives (who happens to represent my hometown of Temecula, CA and parts of San Diego county).
While you might remember him for financing the overthrow of California's executive branch in a failed bid to buy his way into the Governor's mansion, it turns out that stealing cars, brandishing firearms, committing insurance fraud and even arson are but a few of the colorful allegations haunting Mr. Issa's past.
